A free research to practice event for teachers and education practitioners working with children who speak English as an additional language.
The event will focus on four areas of research and practice with EAL children:
• Vocabulary, language and literacy
• Home language and literacy.
The first part of the afternoon will consist of presentations on all four areas from academics, policy makers, and expert practitioners. For the second part of the afternoon attendees can attend a marketplace forum to find out more about research, practice and policy in relation to EAL children.
This event will be of interest to primary and secondary school teachers and senior managers, specialist learning support assistants, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and local authority personnel working with EAL children.
